The name "Kwazi" has a special significance. It was given to him by his breeder, and in an African language, it means "knowing." This moniker, however, was just the beginning of his unique name journey. His human (I'm the lucky one!), with a creative touch, added more layers of meaning and significance to his name, transforming it into "Hotei Kwazi Mo."
"Hotei" pays homage to the 7th Japanese Buddha, a symbol of laughter and abundance. This choice is no coincidence; it's a nod to the wonderful memories of (my) childhood, where my father had a statue of Hotei. As a little girl, I'd often find myself rubbing the Buddha's belly and head, filling my days with laughter.
But the name doesn't stop there. "Mo," in Japanese, signifies body, mind, and soul. So, when you put it all together, you get "Hotei Kwazi Mo"—the Laughing Buddha of joy and abundance who is "all-knowing" and present within your body, mind, and soul. Quite the name for a pint-sized pup with a boundless spirit!
For me, Kwazi became more than just a furry friend; he became an inspiration. The idea for a special line, one that celebrates the joy of dressing Kwazi every day, was born from this unique bond. It became a way to celebrate him and to see him shine in beauty, even during some of life's darkest moments.
This line, known for its dazzling bling and luxurious accessories, is a testament to the power of joy and beauty. It's a reminder that, no matter how challenging or dark life may seem, there's always a light waiting to shine, a bundle of sparkling treasures to discover, much like Kwazi himself.
In my eyes, Kwazi is not just a pet; he's a living, bejeweled jewel—a symbol of joy, abundance, and the unwavering light that exists under the surface, waiting to dazzle the world.
